Orange Decal Program

Got Your Orange Decal Yet?

If you want to spend more time fishing and less time dealing with inspectors – the Orange Decal might help. 

Transport Canada’s Small Vessel Compliance Program-Fishing (SVCP-F) is a voluntary program that helps provide owners and operators of small fishing vessels (not more than 15 GT) with the tools and guidelines to help ensure fishing vessels meet regulatory requirements.

In an effort to help fishermen further, the Safest Catch has been expanded to help fishermen, when requested, complete Transport Canada’s SVCP-F.  Some complexity exists in working to get the Orange Decal and therefore, Fish Safe’s objective is to help fishermen navigate the process more smoothly.

Assistance will be provided, free of charge, to BC fishermen who may be new to the Safest Catch program as well as to those that have already participated in the Safest Catch in the past.
