About the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG):

Search and Rescue, and Boating Safety are probably two of the most familiar services from the Canadian Coast Guard, but Environmental Response, Icebreaking, Marine Navigation Services, Marine Communications and Traffic Services, and Navigable Waters Protection are other programs and services offered by the CCG. The CCG supports the objectives of protecting the marine and freshwater environments, maintaining maritime safety, and facilitating maritime commerce and ocean development.
